Elder's Family Learning Initiative

To assist families coping with the long term care system, Cedar Sinai Park has developed a program of education training classes. This eight hour series consisting of four lesson plans is designed to help families struggling with placing aging relatives in long-term care to understand the aging process and health issues, housing options, insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, family dynamics, legal issues, and how to work with staff in long term care facilities to facilitate optimum care. This innovative approach of working directly with family members, at their own pace and comfort level, will empower them to become partners with social service and medical staff in providing the best care for their elders.

We are offering these course materials without charge to long term care facilities. The Elder’s Family Learning Initiative has been made possible by the financial support of the following donors:
